Legendary  Personalities:

Joe Dawson

"Smokin" Joe Dawson's enviable resume begins in 1975 at KOTD.  Familiar stations through the years include WOW, WBBM-FM in Chicago, KHIT Seattle, and a host of gigs across the Midwest between Columbus, Ohio and Salt Lake City.  Dawson returned to Omaha's KOIL in 1989, ended up in the Cayman Islands and today runs a sports marketing business in Atlanta, Georgia.
The Mighty 1290 KOIL halls were filled with many big names in radio...and at least one that ended up in Television.  Gary Mack had a brief brush with KOIL in the 1960's before moving onto Minneapolis.  Today you know him as "Mean" Gene Okerlund, the voice of the former WWF, with occasional appearances on the WCW programs.
