Tom Becka
|
Self described Libertarian, Tom Becka, brings to the
mic a background in radio sales management and stand up
comedy. Except for a stint at KMBZ in Kansas City, Omaha
has been home for Becka's on-air career. His name has appeared on
Talker Magazine's list
of the 100 most important talk radio hosts. |
| Low in profile, big on results. Drew Bentley
programmed Sweet 98/KQKQ in the late 80's and very early 90's when the
station dominated the young female and teen audiences. Today Bentley
is programmer and morning show host for Super Hits 99, KGOR. |

Chuck Denver
|
Chuck Denver has been heard on more radio
stations than most Omaha radio personalities. As a former DJ for the
Retro Rock network and today, Waitt Radio Networks, Denver is heard
nationwide. In Nebraska, Denver has done "live and local"
for KFAB, KGOR, KFRX, KZFX and KCTY. |
| He may very well be the hardest working local sportscaster
in Central Nebraska. Doug Duda calls football, basketball, volleyball & wrestling from Class A to Class D-2 schools in central Nebraska, giving every sized school access to the
airwaves in almost all sports activites.
Doug began his career at KNLV in Ord and today is part of the Doug &
Daddy show on KXPN in the Tri Cities. |

Roger Flemmer
|
With a 50,000 watt signal serving a predominantly
agricultural region, KFAB's long time AG News Director is known to more
than one generation. Roger Flemmer's KRGI days led to a
career at KFAB, first as a police reporter. Flemmer took over the
reigns as AG director when Ken Headrick was promoted to Station Manager at
KFAB. |
| Tom Goodwin began his radio career at KHUB-Fremont
in the late 70's. Goodwin took a break from radio and hit the
road after forming his own band. He discovered that writing music and working in radio was more his style.
So, he returned to the air in 1987 at Lite 96 (KEFM).
Goodwin segued into his current home at KXKT two years later where he has become one of the longest running and most successful
Program Directors in the country music format. |

Carl Mann
|
Carl Mann was one of the names that were
part of Mighty 1290 in the early and mid 70's. Carl Mann and the
"Feminine Forum" was heard from 10 to Noon on KOIL . Today
Mann can be found at KPTM Fox 42's News Department. |

For more than 55 years Gil Poese has been the force behind the
scenes and in front of the mic at KBRX. Poese purchased 250 watt
station in 1959, added an FM signal in 1974. Not only a veteran of
radio, Gil Poese is also World War II and Korean war veteran. Over the past six
decades he has reported Sandhills news, closings, lunch menus, births and hospital announcements
to O'Neill. |

Rick Vincent
|
He worked for the big AM names in the 70's (KOIL, WOW,
KOWH) and moved to FM in the 80's. Long associated as a voice on
KEFM, Rick Vincent also worked for KGBI and KHUB in Fremont. Today
Vincent anchors the newscasts for Clear Channel Omaha where he serves as
Chief news desk editor.

Morning Teams

For the last decade Keith Allan and Carol Turner have given their listeners
a Country morning wake up. Keith's roots go back to the old 1530
"KECK" crew in the 70's then later KHAT. Carol Turner has
over 25 years behind the mic including two era's at 96KX before and after a
short detour to WDAF in Kansas City. Keith segued from PM
drive to mornings with Carol Daniels in 1991. Carol Turner picked up
where Daniels left off in 1995.

Inductees to the " Personalities" section are based
on the votes of participating radio personalities all across the state of
Nebraska, between September, 2005 & January, 2006. Many fine people simply did not
